So now we have pick number 8 overall, and the Atlanta Falcons did WHAT?! Wait a minute. The Falcons picked who? Man, THIS is why we love the NFL draft! You never know what’s going to happen, and the Atlanta Falcons’ selection of Michael Penix Junior has everyone utterly in shock. 

Penix Junior is a player who checks off two really great boxes as a quarterback: he has the production and that elite arm talent that you look for at the position. His ability to deliver the ball down the field played a huge role in helping his wide receiver teammate, Rome Odunze, become a top ten pick right behind him by the Chicago Bears at number 9. 

Penix Junior will likely watch and learn for a year or two, but we should expect nothing less than fireworks when he does finally get his chance to take snaps under center.
