The worldwide hockey fanbase, not just in the U.S., is witnessing in real time a stupendous amount of interest rapidly growing for the Professional Women’s Hockey League, with a monumental start to the 2025-26 season. Which is exactly what the league had been hoping for when the league scheduled the second annual “2025-26 DoorDash Takeover Tour”.
The PWHL has taken the sports world by storm with their high speed and hard-hitting action. One of the main concerns from fans around the world about women’s hockey is the physicality aspect with the women not being able to check or get into scrums.
The most recent battle between Montreal Victoire and New York Sirens ended in violence; what now looks to be the PWHL’s best rivalry moving forward. The game ended with a line brawl with everyone on the ice going at it and looking for a dance partner during the final seconds of the game.
Taylor Girard for the NY Sirens made PWHL history, becoming the first player to receive a four-game suspension and assessed a game misconduct after leaving the bench and hopping the boards to tussle with a few of the opposing players after the whistle blew and the game ended.
These rough and rugged ladies have proven the naysayers wrong, making these games highly entertaining to watch nothing but fast-paced physical hockey. The PWHL has proven to deliver, and everyone is here for it showing plenty of support for the league. So far, this is only the beginning, and Washington, Vancouver, and Nova Scotia have had the greatest turnout with fans in attendance.

As the tour continues, Denver, Colorado is the next stop and has been anticipating another sold out crowd on Sunday, January 25th between the Vancouver Goldeneyes vs. Seattle Torrent.
Last season, Ball Arena brought in 14,018 PWHL fans, which at that time was the fan attendance record. It is forecasted that Denver has a good chance to break that record come Sunday.
