Only a few days after returning from an injury that has kept Tiger Woods out of the action for the past year, Tiger encountered a “bump in the road” in what looks to be a minor setback. Woods was charged with a DUI after passing the breathalyzer test blowing (.000) but refused to take a urinalysis test after rolling his vehicle in Martin County, FL not far from his home. Tiger hasn’t had the best luck with vehicles, and this isn’t his first encounter with the Florida Police involving an accident. In 2017, he was arrested in Florida for a DUI, as well as in 2021 he was involved in a rollover crash in California. In this incident, no one was injured, and the authorities claimed that Woods was cooperative but appeared impaired, which is the reason why they took him in and booked him with a misdemeanor for DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit a lawful test. Woods spent 8 hours in the Martin County Jail before being released on bond.

Woods was on track to make a positive return and came up short in the TGL Finals Match with his Jupiter Links Squad just a few days ago that attracted 989,000 viewers on ESPN. The TGL match was only 11,000 viewers short of the 1 million that set a broadcasting record for ESPN last year. Woods had also officially registered for the 2026 Senior Open just a couple days before this incident occurred. Between the TGL Finals matchup and registering for the 2026 Senior Open fans were looking forward to the possibility of a resurgence for the Masters Tournament this coming month.

Tiger Woods support system is massive. One of his long-time friends and golf mates, Anthony Kim, who has also weathered the storm in his personal life took to X.com to express his concern and give his well wishes to Tiger:

“Dunno what @tigerwoods is dealing w & it isn’t my business. As some1 who has and will always deal w my own issues like every other human I pray for the man who positively influenced my life and millions of others overcomes wat he is going thru. Trust GOD. 1% BETTER. SOBER IS DOPE.”

A man worth $1.5 billion who has been under a microscope and in the spotlight since he was a child, and battling numerous injuries throughout his career that required surgery will have issues under certain circumstances that the everyday average person cannot relate to.

Woods has gone uphill his whole life and has reached the milestone, hitting the age of 50 this past year. The body and mind deteriorate once every man and/or woman is officially “over the hill” requiring medication to ease the pain. Golf is 30% physical and 70% mental. Hopefully, Tiger can get his mind right to get back on the right path and resurrect his career for a third intermittent comeback which is what his support system, fan base, and the world of golf is hoping and pulling for.
